Google social recommendations

Social advertising and social recommendation is the newest trend in Web 2.0. Facebook introduced the personalized advertising in summer 2013. Also Google announced on Friday that advertising with images and names from Google users will be done in the future. Users can disable the feature. According to this, terms and conditions are currently being changed.

Social recommendations at Google – What is it?

Social recommendations refer to ratings, reviews, and +1’s that people have written in their Google Network. Personal recommendations are more reliable to people than reviews from unknown people.
Google writes in the new terms and conditions:
(http://www.google.com/policies/terms/changes/) “Feedback from people you know can save you time and improve results for you and your friends across all Google services, including Search, Maps, Play and in advertising. For example, your friends might see that you rated an album 4 stars on the band’s Google Play page.”

What does this change mean for your review management?

Google+ reviews and advices become more important. Check your content on Google+ and encourage your guests to review your hotel on Google+. Keep in mind that every new review is free advertising for your property.
